The story is set in post-revolutionary France in early 19th-century. Although the specific date is never given, Napoleon Bonaparte is still described as being in power. A character (see below) remarks that it is several years before the 20th anniversary of the French Revolution, placing the game’s events in the years before 1809.

As for the story, Gaise is the main character. He is a typical young street runt. Episode one, opens with Gaise being stripped off naked and had his anal probed by a blonde prison warden named Durer which appears only at this event.

Gaise was caught stealing candy by Guildas. Eventually he ends up being convicted for a murder. After he went through a senseless fixed trial, Gaised is thrown into prison. It is only in the last ten minutes of the anime that the intentions of Guildas is revealed. He turns out to be a sadistic person.

He intends to extort Gaise in being his sex toy by having his friends held as hostages. During the sex scenes, Guildas recalls a girl named Niuka. Although, her character is not thoroughly explained, it would seem the she is the girl that is seen somewhere in the beginning.
The episode concludes with Guise staring blankly and hoping for his escape metaphorically showed when a bird flew from the prison wall but was shot down on sight.
The primary goal of the game is for the player (as Guys) to locate evidence and witnesses that can exonerate him of the murder, unveil the true killer, and get him released from prison. Secondary goals include learning the killer’s true motives, finding out the backstory of the murder, keeping Guys both physically and psychologically healthy, and forming a romantic bond with other male NPCs in the prison.
