Itsuka no kimi e (2007) いつかの君へ

Credits : Thanks to Erisadesu =)  (Reviewer)

After Noboru saves Hayase from drowning by giving him mouth-to-mouth, Hayase grows confused about his feelings. It doesn’t help that around the same time he meets Noboru’s twin brother Ryu who has a very different, outgoing personality.

Let’s face it, Japanese movie makers now how to make a movie about boys’ love.
This time Kei Horie directs and writes a story about two college students whose life changes after an accident.

The well known to this site Takumi Saito (Boys Love, Sukitomo) stars in this movie with the role of Fukami Twins. Noboru Fukami is a quiet, introverted and sometimes rude photography student in his Art College. All of his students admire his work. Recently his grades are not as well as before.

The last thing he wants is to hung around with his college mates. Kouhei Hayase (played by Ryunosuke Kawai) is fascinated by Noboru skills and wants to get to know him better althought the tries of his frineds to discourage him. One day Hayase as his was having fun with his friend fells in the water and Noboru is the one who saves him by giving him mouth to mouth. Hayase’s feeling change and now more than ever wants to be friends with Noboru.

During his efforts to get to know Noboru better, Hayase meets by accident Ryu Fukami who has a very different personality from his twin brother. Ryu is more outgoing and friendly and that leads the two boys to a new friendship. But something doesn’t feel right and Hayase gets confused between these two brothers…

Noboru after seeing Ryu with Hayase starts to seek Hayase’s companion. Finally Hayase is friend with Noboru. Noboru’s life changes and he gets inspired, his grades and work gets better and wins a scholarship for an abroad college. Noboru is on dilemma shall he live or stay with Hayase. Does Hayase care for him or he prefers his brother better?

The scenario is quite predictable but it doesn’t spoil the fun. The chemistry between the actors is nice and the overall enjoyment is high. This was actually my first movie about boys’ love and made me search for movies like them. So there is something about this movie that makes you watch it over and over again.
