After the sexual initiation, Handong and Lan Yu soon are meeting each other on a regular basis. Lan Yu yearns for a committed relationship with Handong, despite Handong’s insistence that he wants a play mate and not a life-long companion. Handong showers expensive gifts on Lan Yu, but he warns Lan Yu that they will eventually break up.

After a tumultuous relationship, they begin living together as a couple amd Handong presents Lan Yu with a newly built villa and a car. However, this relationship soon crumples as Handong enters into a romance with Jingping, a translator who helped his company in trade negotiations.
