Stephen Fung plays Jet, a gigolo seeking true love,who spots Sam (Daniel Wu) in a gallery and falls for him immediately. Sam is a seemingly heterosexual cop with a knockout girlfriend (Shu Qi). Jet’s gigolo friend helps to seek out by placing a personals ad but they two fall for each other anyway.
As Jet’s feelings grow, he is unaware that Sam has some buried secrets (or colorful history) of his own. Sam was previously involved with Ching (Jason Tsang) who is Jet’s room-mate and a fellow gigolo. After that he was romantically involved with K.S. (Terence Yin), a pop star idol, who parted ways with Sam after he became famous. But not before Sam prostitutes himself to a photographer to raise money to pay for KS’s debts.
It is a complicated and sentimental story that is deftly fleshed out in the screen. Bishonen provides a heartfelt look at Hong Kong’s gay subculture, and is one of unique love story of its kind.
