A law graduate, Paerin was actively involved in theatre was awarded a gold medal for his studies in Speech and Drama at the London Academy of Dramatic and Music Arts. His theatre credits include “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Action Theatre), “Forbidden City” (Singapore Repertory Theatre), “Arty Party” (Theatreworks), “Dreaming Up a Prince”, “Lanterns” and “Mardi Gras” (all by The Necessary Stage), “The Deep Blue Sea” (Escape productions) and “24 Pieties” (Toy Factory). Paerin also wrote the musical “Twelfth Night” which was staged in the Esplanade last year.
Paerin is equally at ease on television as he is on stage, having acted in a number of Mediacorp drama series such as Growing Up, Spin, the Strategem, The Reunion, CH I dramas 6 weeks and Singapore Shakes. Equally at ease with mandarin, Paerin has done several mandarin series like Holland Village, Always in my Heart and most recently, Fa Yi X Dan An 2. He was also involved in the Raintree movie, One Last Dance starring opposite Francis Ng.
He is currently rehearsing for Theatre Practice’s upcoming chinese musical, Lao Jiu, as well as SRT’s Snow Queen which will be staged later this year.
